The big announcement from iTunes turned out to be that they finally got The Beatles on iTunes. After so many years of trying, a deal has finally been made.

At 2010, this announcement isn’t as important as it would have been, say, five years ago. We already got all their albums remastered last year. I don’t think any fans of The Beatles are really benefiting from this, not at this point. But the deal is made and for some this is a big breakthrough. It’s certainly cool to see them on iTunes, but many people are going to upset people are going to buy songs individually. As well all know, The Beatles really should be listened to through their albums as a whole.

The only real benefit I can think of is that younger kids who aren’t too familiar with The Beatles, but are strictly iTunes buyers, may discover the band on their own.

One cool thing I have noticed from the massive Beatles takeover on the iTunes Store is that there are some cool free features like mini documentaries and concerts, such as their February 11th, 1964 performance at The Washington Coliseum. Now, that’s cool.
