Electronic dream pop artist MillionYoung has announced that he will released his debut album next year. It’s called Replicants and will come out on Old Flame Records. It will be released digitally on January 11 and on Vinyl/CD on February 15, 2011.

After releasing his Sunndreamm EP for free (download here) and his Be So True EP on Arcade Sound Ltd., he’s reading to put his strongest efforts towards a full length EP that’s sure to delight.

Below you can download the excellent “Calrissian”, a song from Replicants. It’s a perfect fit for the seasonal change. Sounds like it has a little bit of holiday spirit in it.

[video] The Vaccines – All In White (New Song, Live)

By Will, November 8th 2010 — with 2 comments

As if you needed more proof as to why The Vaccines are one of my absolute bands to watch. They have delivered nothing but gems so far.

Reader Matt Turnbull just sent me a live video of the band playing a song called “All In White” from their September 30th show at Sheffield venue, The Forum. The band sounds top notch live with the live chops to back up their status as arguably the biggest buzz band at the moment. Lead singer Justin Young has some powerful vocals that are giving me chills. Their garage rock revival is really fresh and inspiring. I truly believe that these guys are the real deal. I can’t wait to see their two night residency in NYC in January. You better get your tickets as soon as possible.

Here’s “All In White”:

A few days late on Kanye’s latest G.O.O.D. Friday track. He was late as well, posting the song on Saturday. So I think we can call this one a draw. It features some of Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Friday regulars (Pusha T, Cyhi The Prince, Big Sean), along with hot up and coming rapper J. Cole. It’s another song that sounds like it could have come from The College Dropout era. There’s plenty of quotable verses from this one. Way too many. Keep your little brother away from this one. Lots of trouble.

Grab it below via Kanye:

[CMJ] Keepaway @ Cake Shop (10/21/2010)

By Will, November 7th 2010

Keepaway played a really great set at Cakeshop, impressing me with Animal Collective-esque harmonies and interesting melodies that kept the mind working. Don’t know why I don’t listen to these guys more. Going to work on that soon.

[CMJ] Diamond Rings @ Cakeshop (10/21/2010)

By Will, November 6th 2010

Went to Cakeshop to see Keepaway perform at NYC Taper’s Party. Caught a bit of Diamond Rings set, and thought he has some good things going for him. Was impressed with how much the guy did alone. His sound was dark guitar/electronic based songs with a lot of bite and emotion. He recently released his debut album Special Affections via Secret City Records.

Strange Talk – Climbing Walls

By Will, November 6th 2010 — with 2 comments

There’s a large amount of good music coming from down under, as of late. Australians are slowly building up an impressive resume of great artists. The latest addition? Meet Strange Talk.

It came to my attention via a chatbox post from Thomas of We May Be Remembered… , and he was onto something. These guys rule. Their song “Climbing Walls” has me all kinds of addicted right now. Built around a gloriously cheerful chorus, flashy electronics, and a fat bassline…what’s not to love? Even the vocals are crystal clear, in the vein of Thomas Mars of Phoenix. These guys are like a super hybrid of Yeasayer, Passion Pit, and Empire Of The Sun. Their built for success. The vocals are crystal clear, in the vein of Thomas Mars of Phoenix.

I believe this is only a demo, which leaves me even more impressed:

The band will release their debut EP early next year. I bet it’s going to be delicious.
