Here’s Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin’s new music video for “Back In The Saddle”. It features the song synced to live Aerosmith performances. It’s pretty amazing/scary how well the two match up.

Check it out below:

Also it looks like SSLYBY will also be playing at the Tokyo Police Club/Two Door Cinema Club show on January 21st at Terminal 5. If you still haven’t gotten your ticket for that, what are you waiting for. What an incredible lineup. Grab your tickets here.

Sondre Lerche – Lewis Takes Off His Shirt (Owen Pallett Cover)

By Will, December 28th 2010 — with 2 comments

Last year I really enjoyed Sondre Lerche’s cover of Animal Collective’s “Bluish”, my #1 song of 2009. He’s making it a tradition to cover one of his favorite songs of the year each December. This year he picked Owen Pallet’s “Lewis Takes Off His Shirt”, a song that made my list for best songs of 2010.

It’s another job well done by Mr. Lerche. Download it below via Stereogum.

Introducing: Dylan Fox And The Wave

By Will, December 27th 2010 — with 6 comments

Here’s a nice late night find. It’s a new EP called Buzz from an Oakland, California band called Dylan Fox And The Wave. The band consists of brothers Dylan and Sean Fox. They describe themselves as garage rock, and that’s right on the money. I checked out the EP and heard traces of The White Stripes and The Black Keys.

These guys have got the rock and roll passion and the execution of seasoned vets. This is as solid of an EP as they come. I’m absorbed in it right now. If you like blues inspired rock and roll, this is going to come as a treasure.

It will be released on iTunes tomorrow (Dec 28th), but you can stream the entire thing right here.

Posted below are two of my favorite cuts, “Where We Know” and the White Stripes sounding “Gotta Know Where I’m Going”:

City Reign – Out In The Cold

By Will, December 27th 2010

City Reign are an encouraging rock band from Manchester. Their 2nd single “Out In The Cold” is being released on January 22nd via Car Boot Records. They sent it my way and I was immediate drawn in. It’s a well written rock piece that is easy on the ears. For a young band they sound polished and ready to go. I’m impressed.

The band are allowing me to share a mp3 of “Out In The Cold”. Get it below, and check out it’s music video right after it.

You can hear their first single “Making Plans” (which is also great) and other songs at their myspace.

[music video] Sam Forrest – Echo Godless

By Will, December 26th 2010

Sam Forrest is the lead singer/guitarist of Nine Black Alps. I absolutely loved their debut album, Everything Is back in high school. So you can imagine that it was a really pleasant surprise to get an e-mail from Sam about his solo music, as I was previously unaware that he released solo material.

He just released a new music video for his song “Echo Godless”. It’s a really pretty track that actually reminds me a lot of Elliot Smith. It sounds like it’s a song built on longing and regret, or at least that’s what I’m getting from it. It’s taken from his 3rd solo record, No Imagination, which was released this year on Desert Mine Music.

Watch the music video below. If you really like the song, grab it for free at his bandcamp.

HP And We All Want Someone To Shout For

By Will, December 25th 2010 — with 3 comments

I have been meaning to write to you guys about this sooner, but December was a pretty hectic month for me, for various reasons. Not too long ago HP came to me with interest in partnering up with me. Don’t worry guys, I still have possession of my soul – haha.

They were generous enough to give me a Beats by Dre laptop to play around with and see how it helps with the whole music blogging experience. I gave some hints on twitter and facebook, but maybe this is news for you. A few of you have even been asking me how the Beats headphones are.

I can assure you, if you want a laptop that provides you with quality sound, look no further. It was made in hope to enhance the listening experience for audiophiles, and I think it does a great job.  Overall it’s a solid system, I’m pretty impressed. The headphones give a full listening experience. It knocks out enough exterior sound to give you an intimate listening experience. My only gripe with the headphones is that the plastic material seems somewhat cheap, especially considering how expensive that they are. I don’t know, I just feel like it’s just waiting to snap on my big head.

The system does hold it’s own so far. I still need to dive deep in all it’s features, but so far, I’m digging it. My roommate is even considering picking up his own system.

HP may even be able to hook some of you up with some goodies so stay tuned. I’ll have more about this whole experience soon.

By Will, December 25th 2010 — with 1 comment

Last year I asked you guys for your favorite albums of the year, and itt was a lot of fun. So much, that I wanted to do it again this year. I want to compile a list of We All Want Someone’s readers favorite albums and songs of 2010. Let’s see if your tastes match mine. That would make sense, wouldn’t it?

To participate, all you have to do is send me an e-mail at weallwantvote@gmail.com . I am using a separate e-mail because my blog’s email is an absolute mess right now.

Send me a list with no more than 10 albums and 10 song, numbered #1-#10 please. I will accept submissions until January 10th. After January 10th I’ll tally all the votes and give you the top vote getting albums and songs.

Thanks for your participation. I’m really looking forward to seeing the results!

Dum Dum Girls got in on the Christmas music giving. This morning they e-mailed their fans their lovely cover of Strawberry Switchblade’s “Trees & Flowers”.

Band member Dee Dee says the cover will only be good as a download from soundcloud for a little while, so you best grab it while you can. She says a hi-fi version will eventually be released. Take a listen below:
