Miles Kane is best known as Alex Turner’s partner in crime in The Last Shadow Puppets. I’ve been a fan of his work for a while, enjoying what he released with The Rascals. We may not get another LSP album for a while, so Miles has decided to go solo. He is releasing his debut solo album (tentatively titled My Fantasy) next year, via Columbia Records.

He has played a few solo gigs, and has released one song from the album so far, called “Inhaler”. It’s a funky tune that sounds like a throw back to 70s-80s guitar rock. I’m even more impressed by the albums first single, “Come Closer” (due out on February 21st). They played the single live at RAK Studios last week, and I gotta tell you, it’s extraordinary.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think his solo stuff would be this good, but it is. Miles can hold his own.

Stream “Inhaler” below, and watch the RAK Studio performance of “Come Closer” below.
