On April 12th, Polyvinyl Records will release Vivian Girls new album, Share The Joy. For the price of an e-mail address, you can grab a new song from the band at their website.
The song is titled “I Heard You Say”, and it may be one of my favorite Vivan Girls cuts to date. It’s got all the right girl group ingredients, creating a lovely little song. Their sound got a lot cleaner, something that we can probably thank Polyvinyl for. Nothing against lo-fi, but some bands deserve some good studio work. Vivan Girls are one of those bands.
