Lots of new album announcements have been coming these last few days. Death Cab For Cutie felt left out of the loop, and announced that they will release new album, Codes and Keys, on May 31st via Atlantic Records.
During an interview with BBC Radio Host Zane Lowe, Death Cab’s guitarist Chris Walla said that “You Are a Tourist” is the likely first single. The band is experimenting with reverb and synths, which is certainly going to be interesting. Alan Moulder is mixing the album.
It’s good to hear that the band is experimenting with new stuff. We all know how well The Postal Service came out. So maybe this experimentation will be a breath of fresh air for the band.
I would think that we can expect a more upbeat album this time around. Don’t know what Ben could be sad about. Seriously. If you’re married to Zooey Deschanel, I don’t know how you can ever be sad….
