Battles Announce New Album: Gloss Drop

By Will, February 28th 2011 — with 2 comments Album News News

Finally. That’s all I can say to the announcement of Battles new album, Gloss Drop. The long awaited followup to their fantastic debut album Mirrored will drop on June 7th via Warp Records.

It’s their first album as a trio, which means it’s also the first without Tyondai Braxton. However, the band has songs with the likes of Gary Numan (yes, Gary Numan), and Kazu Makino from Blonde Redhead to help out with guest vocals on some songs. Who else can’t wait to hear the Numan featured song: “My Machines”?

I can’t wait to see what these guys are able to do on album two. I trust that they will continue to blow minds.

Check out the tracklist, after the jump:

1. Africastle
2. Ice Cream [ft. Matias Aguayo]
3. Futura
4. Inchworm
5. Wall Street
6. My Machines (Feat. Gary Numan)
7. Dominican Fade
8. Sweetie & Shag (Feat. Kazu Makino)
9. Toddler
10. Rolls Bayce
11 White Electric
12 Sundome (Feat. Yamantaka Eye)
