It was only a matter of time until mashups were being made of Tyler The Creator’s “Yonkers”. I just didn’t expect it to be with Neutral Milk Hotel. Of all bands, them? That’s not quite what went through the mind of Soundcloud user Cyclops Rock, a.k.a. as Rob Duffy from LA.
He took “Yonkers” and mixed it with Neutral Milk Hotel’s “Communist Daughter”, from their 1998 landmark album, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. The result is “Communist Future”, creating a mash that seems like it’s been waiting for us this whole time. The two songs seem to go hand and hand. It’s a very pleasant surprise.
Sometimes you got to take risks folks. It just may pay off. “Communist Future” is a prime example.Cyclops Rock has quite the imagination.
