In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bon Iver revealed that he has a new 10 song album coming this June. He told RS that he had help from outside artists like saxophonist Colin Stetson (played with Tom Waits + Arcade Fire) and pedal-steel guitarist Greg Leisz (Wilco, Joni Mitchell). He said their presence helped him change his role as the author of the band.

Justin described the 10 song album as a collage where each song represents a different place. He then provides interesting details about a few songs. Very excited to hear the album closer “Beth/Rest” which Justin described as “the part where you pick up your joint and re-light it.” How’s that for awesome?

Seems like the new LP is going to be an immense collection of songs that will be true to who he has become. One thing’s for sure: It’s going to be a lot more studio influenced than the bare cabin inspired Emma, Forever Ago.

June isn’t too far away, but we’ll all still be waiting impatiently for some new Bon Iver. I trust that Justin is going to deliver another magical album that we will all be raving about this summer.
