Is Tropical first caught my ear last year with the catchy song “When O’ When”. They fell off my radar for a bit, but it’s safe to say they are back. June 13th will see the release of their debut album, Native To, via Kitsuné/Cooperative Music/Downtown Records.
The band is allowing Native To’s first single, “The Greeks”, to be downloaded for the price of an e-mail. It’s a bass heavy post-punk dance drank that will get you moving. It has a futuristic vibe to it that reminds me a bit of Klaxons.
Is Tropical are pushing the idea of electronic rock forward more and more. Hopefully the rest of Native To continues this trend.
