Today is the last day that you can enter the contest for a chance to win a Envy 14 Laptop, via the kind folks over at HP. At midnight tonight, I’m done taking submissions. There’s so many to get through, it has to be done.
So if you want a free laptop (why wouldn’t you?), be sure to head to this post, follow the instructions, and leave a comment. You never know, it just may be your lucky day.
If you enter be sure to let me know via twitter or facebook.

About a year ago, I lost the letter “d” on my laptop keyboard so I have to copy and paste d’s when necessary. (http://img26.imageshack.us/i/k11et.jpg/) I’ve gotten really fast at hitting ctrl+v to paste the d I always have ready but it’d definitely be nice to not deal with this anymore. I’m basically altered my entire vocabulary online to never include a need for a capital d.
Neither the speakers on my laptop or the headphone jack work so I have a separate USB headphone jack to hear stuff. (http://img845.imageshack.us/i/k22.jpg/) This is probably the biggest appeal of the Beats laptop. I love music more than anything and the bulk of my time on a computer is spent listening to it. I’m also picky about sound quality and the idea of having a laptop that is catered to a music listener really appeals to me.
The battery quit working about 2 years ago. I’ve tried all the little tricks to reset it including leaving it in my freezer for a month but nothing worked. I just keep it plugged in all the time but when I have to use my printer in the other room it gets a little annoying having to turn the computer off, move everything in there, and turn everything back on to print.
My laptop always sits on a blue heat pad because of the literal burning heat it produces after awhile of running. I realize this is common for laptops but mine is literally melted part of the heating pad and warped the entire thing at this point.
I’ve managed to get by with these physical issues for some time and don’t really think much of them anymore (until someone comes over and sees my laptop, then it’s a wake up call). However, with as much as I use it and with my music collection, it’s now basically filled to capacity. Last week I got a warning message saying I had something like 128 MB left of memory and basically had no choice but to delete at least some stuff. I’ve gotten it down to having 3.76 GB of memory left but I know that can only go so far. (http://img820.imageshack.us/i/k33n.jpg/) The computer frequently gets a case of the freezies, where you try to move the mouse and it decides to move it 5 seconds later.
I really appreciate your consideration and would be beyond thankful for a brand new computer, let alone one that looks like my ideal choice.

HP Envy its work with fast performance with a great display and audio quality.Stylistically, the Envy 14 looks the same as its predecessors: it has a taupe aluminum and magnesium body with a paisley-esque etched pattern on the lid and deck. We also like little touches like the backlit HP logo on the lid and the mostly smooth black bottom (where you can attach the optional slice battery).
Like previous Envys, the Envy 14 features a black island-style keyboard. New, though, is backlighting: while it only has two settings (on or off, as opposed to the gradient lighting on MacBook Pros), it’s a nice addition. While typing, we liked the smooth surface of the keys and the lack of flex, but we sometimes had to press slightly harder than usual. We were pleased that we didn’t need to hold down a two keys at once to change settings like the screen brightness or volume; simply using one of the function keys by itself was enough.
So i like the HP brands very much…………..
