The Strokes have returned to the studio to work on the music – presumably on a (quick) follow up to Angles. Bassist Nikolai Fraiture gave us a bit of insight on the band’s ongoings with the following set of tweets:
So it’s not much to work with, but hey, it’s something. The Strokes weren’t shy about being frustrated about Angles recording sessions. They seemed eager to get into the studio to record again, so that’s certainly exciting. If you didn’t like Angles, this is probably great news to hear. Nikolai also posted a photo of the bands studio set up:

Hey there WWSTSF, NME had an interview with Julian.C and he put a stop to the recent Writing and Recording session due to tension between himself and Nick.V. Nick apparently tried using Strokes songs for a solo but the contracts they have with The Strokes stopped him from doing so. As of right now The Strokes (Mostly Julian&Nick) arent on good terms and there is still much tension between the two of them.

I loved Angles and I’m psyched for this!

lets hope they can all make peace with each other and julian can put aside his differences and they can improve on Angles. I thought Angels had some good songs but half the songs were worse then b-sides as well. You could tell on Angles that the band chemistry just wasn’t there. I heard they had a 5 record deal with the label. I am starting to wonder if they are getting in the studio so quick just to get to record 5 and then split up and do their solo stuff. I dunno seems weird after such a long break then an album then back to the studio – something is up.
