Major Lazer have uploaded an unreleased song called “German Elephant Killer” on their facebook page. It’s the first time the song has been made available, hence the band calling it a new old song.

The band are working on the follow up to Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do in Jamaica right now. Chances are it will sound a lot different than “German Elephant Killer”.

SO3 just released a music video for their feel good jam, “I Just Want You To (Dance With Me Tonight)”. Considering it’s their first video ever, the guys put together quite the effort. It’s a catchy song, and the visual aid certainly doesn’t hurt. For those Office Space fans out, take a look at who the leading male is in the video. Remember a waiter named, Brian? Very impressive casting boys!

Check out the video, below:

“I Just Want You To (Dance With Me Tonight)” is taken from their Johnny On The Underground single which you can stream/buy at their bandcamp.

Wolf Parade’s Spencer Krug stays incredibly busy at all times, and with Wolf Parade currently on hiatus, he has plenty of time to invest in his solo project, Moonface. He is releasing a new album Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I’d Hoped, on August 2 via Jagjaguwar.

Yesterday he gave away a new song called “The Way You Wish You Could Live In The Storm” for free. It didn’t make the album, but the 8-minute track is still worth your time. It sounds like the type of epic closer that “Kissing The Beehive” was for At Mount Zoomer. If you’re a fan of Wolf Parade, then it should go without saying that this track should be downloaded immediately:

Yoyo Eskimo – Into The Night

By Will, June 29th 2011

Yoyo Eskimo reach far back into the realm of the 80′s and deliver blippy electronic goodness on their debut single “Into The Night”. The London 4-piece formed at the beginning of 2011, and they are currently hard at work on their debut EP which will feature this really fun song.

If I had to describe their sound, it’s a mix of Depeche Mode and Hot Chip, two of the bands influences.

Beirut Reveal The Rip Tide Album Art

By Will, June 29th 2011

Beirut will release new album, The Rip Tide on August 30 via Zach Condon’s very own Pompeii Records. We have a taste of the new LP in the form of the magestic single “East Harlem”, which is available to stream below:

The album is available for pre-order here. The first pressings of each come in a special foil-stamped, clothbound editions, which the band says is “rather like an old hardcover book”.

[new] Zola Jesus – Vessel

By Will, June 29th 2011 — with 1 comment

Zola Jesus is releasing her new album Conatus on October 4, via Sacred Bones. Below you can download album track “Vessel”. It’s a hypnotic blipped out track that is haunting in more ways than one. Nika Danilova’s vocals sound outer worldly. The girl has some serious pipes.

Tennis have released a cover of Brenda Lee’s “Is It True?” as a free download. It’s upbeat in all the right ways, beaming with the feel good summer energy that Tennis always find a way to give off so effortlessly. One listen to the original version, and you will understand why Tennis wanted to cover it.

Wilco Reveal New Album: The Whole Love

By Will, June 29th 2011 — with 1 comment

Wilco have revealed that their new album is indeed title The Whole Love. It will be released on September 27 (three days before my 21st bithday) on the bands very own label, dBpm.

We’ve already heard lead single “I Might”, and it’s pretty great. If the rest of the album is similar, we are looking at a feel good record, for sure. Check out the rest of the tracklist after the jump:

The Drums have released a new teaser video for their new album which may be titled Portamento. Watch the video below which features some new music from the band, as well as grainy footage of the band in the studio. The new material is sounding like darker 80s new wave. The new album will hopefully be released later this fall.
