[new] The Morning Benders – I Wanna Be Your Man (Live)

By Will Oliver, June 21st 2011 — with 5 comments Live Video Video

The Morning Benders twitter stream has been full of wonderful updates about the recording of their new album. The band played a new song this weekend at the free concert, Make Music Pasadena. The song is called “I Wanna Be Your Man” and you can watch/listen below thanks to a video that a fan uploaded. It sounds very Paul Simon to me. As expected, the band is exploring new territories. I like it quite a lot. Take a listen:

The band also covered Prince’s “When You Were Mine”. You can watch that after the jump:

to be honest, i think this song is terrible. everyone in the crowd looked pretty dumbfounded when they played it. the morning benders certainly have gone in a new direction, but it’s away from the earnest simplicity that i came to love in them

Always enjoy dropping by your blog to check out what is on your mind in the world of music.

Respect alot of your music selections of bands and artists. I still never know how you do it all by yourself. I recently got a little help in the writing department and things have been looking up.

btw thanks for sharing this Morning Benders track. I think the new album is going to be pretty special

Thanks! It can be rough doing it alone, but I’ve become used to it. Thanks for continuing to read the blog and to comment. It doesn’t go unnoticed!
