An email pointed me in the direction of this blues influenced guitar player named Gary Clark Jr. A few listens to his material had me do a double take to make sure I wasn’t actually listening to The Black Keys. Gary’s music is very similar not only because he makes soul inspired blues rock, but because his voice actually sounds a lot like Dan Auerbach. The other obvious comparison is Jimi Hendrix.
He’s releasing a new EP this summer called Bright Lights. Below you can take a listen to two tracks that should appear on the EP. If you’re a fan of The Black Keys, or bluesy guitar rock in general, Gary Clark Jr. is going to blow your mind. He’s certainly one to look out for in the near future.

love the G Clark post, I saw him in hollywood a few months ago, and he is such a talented musician. there was a lot of jamming which was pretty rad to hear since it was so different than anything else i had heard from him before. Anyways, thanks for the post!
