Peppercorn are a band from Sydney, Australia who admit that a lot of people think they sound similar to Cut Copy.
There are certainly flashes of dance elements that Cut Copy own so well on Peppercorn’s debut EP, Wasted Summer, but these guys certainly cast their own shadow. They create feel good music with a dance edge that certainly sounds like it’s made for a good summer night – not quite a waste. “Need You Now” & “I’ll Get Back To You” are two dance ready cuts that appealed to me right away. “Dreaming” reminded me a bit of Weezer, maybe Green Album era.
