New Kele song called “What Did I Do” which features Lucky Taylor. It’s gonna be on a new EP titled The Hunter that will be released on November 7.
After Silent Alarm, I was a huge fan of Bloc Party. To be honest, my love for them has quickly faded. This song doesn’t do anything for me except long for a new Bloc Party record. A real Bloc Party record.
Don’t know what happened with Kele, but this direction doesn’t work for me. Take a listen below and let me know if you agree or disagree.

this is probably why bloc party went back into the studio without him

I agree Will, its boring and repetitive, and one of the best things about Kele was his voice, which he hardly uses at all here… very disappointing, but then again, I didn’t love his solo album either

It’s a joke?? i think he lost all kind of good taste for indie music. its a shame

I quite like it. My only problem with the track is the wobble-bass. There is so much of it in dance music nowadays, that it needs to be something special to do anything for me. Here it just feels like it was tacked on at the end, without much thought or effort. Hopefully it will sound better on the album, through some better speakers.

i don’t want to rip on him for switching genres, but he’s just not being very creative with it. it sounds like he just remixed a magnetic man song and flavored it with chris brown. it’s nothing interesting – nothing worth doing a solo album for.

yeah sounds like very generic dance music. also you could not have picked a creepier screencap haha

also theres a part of it that sounds just like the hook from “time after time” by cyndi lauper.

Im going to respectfully disagree with you there. Surely the point of a side project is to pursue styles other than what is currenly being purveyed. I have found his experimentation in electronic production and dance genres with the solo album and now this track to be pretty f-ing awesome. Looking forward to ‘the hunter’. (Also, Lucy Taylor is smoking hot!)
