Sad news indeed. The legendary R.E.M. have officially called it quits. You have every right to be sad, but they’ve had such a long successful career. Just be proud of what they’ve accomplished and remember them for the good.
The band posted the following message on their website:
To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening. – R.E.M.

Washed Out’s music video for album standout “Amor Fati” features fellow musician Luke Rathborne traveling the land. There are some beautiful shots that beautifully go with the music. It’s worth a watch for sure.

Washington D.C. mates Tennis System are bringing the rock on this wonderful track, “Hey, We Tried”. It reminded me a great deal of Wavves, with a dreamy fuzzy sound that is shoegazy and catch as all hell.

The Walkmen played a new song at the Santa Barbara Bowl that is working with the title of “Your Southern Soul” on youtube. It’s more homemade beauty from the band who seem to dig out endless amount of heart warming gems. Check it, Hamilton is even playing some guitar.

Panda Bear has announced some more tour dates that are posted over at Pitchfork. I didn’t realize his shows at Webster Hall and Brooklyn’s Masonic Temple are still available.
