Radiohead Announce Two NYC Shows

By Will, September 19th 2011 — with 1 comment

Radiohead are coming to NYC to play Roseland Ballroom on September 28 & 29. My 21st birthday is September 30th. If I can score tickets to the 29th show, it will be quite a way to send me off to “adulthood”. Talk about awesome.

Hope you guys are able to score tickets as well. This is going to be as intimate of a show as they come. Best of luck to all of you.

Tickets
will go on sale next Monday, September 26, at 10am via our friends at Ticketmaster (end sarcasm). On September 26 the band will also guest on The Colbert Show. Don’t miss that either.

Kuhlamity – Kuhlam & DeShay

By Will, September 17th 2011

“Kuhlam & DeShay” is the latest track from Rockland County’s Kuhlamity. It’s from his upcoming release, Center Of A Tension. It’s got all the same vulgarity and wit, mixed in with some of his catchiest moments yet.

Young rappers should take note. He’s up to something good.

The Motha Folkin Soul EP

By Will, September 17th 2011

The Motha Folkin Soul have just released a self titled EP that is available to download for free. These are two dudes who make extremely funny, sometimes vulgar folk (listen to opening track “Rasberry Tea”). You can’t help but take them seriously with such nice melodies backing up their humor, but at the same time, you realize they aren’t taken themselves too seriously. It’s all a part of their winning charm.

Lighten up, grab a drink, and moth folkin listen to this EP.

The Beets – Doing As I Do

The Beats are a band from Queens who make chilled out rock that is perfect for a relaxed evening. They just signed to Hardly Art, who will release the bands new album, Let The Poison Out.

Check out a little gem from the new LP titled “Doing As I Do” and find out why these guys have been asked to open for the likes of Pavement.

“Shadows Of The Battlefield” is a medley of Pat Benatar’s “Shadows Of The Night” and “Love Is A Battlefield” by Colossal Gospel. The band’s Christopher Johnson described the song as follows:

We were just kinda messing around and it ended up sounding okay, so we put it up for free download.

It’s a nice listen, and something I highly recommend.

[music video] Arctic Monkeys – Suck It And See (NSFW)

By Will, September 16th 2011 — with 2 comments

On October 31, Arctic Monkeys will release the title track, Suck It And See, from their new album as their new single. It will come with a b-side titled “Evil Twin”. Once again their buddies Focus Creeps directed the video which features drummer Matt Helders.

It’s a little bit NSFW, so be aware if you’re at work. Happy Friday.
