Australia’s The Honey Pies are about to release their new album Carpe Carp. “Girl” is a song from that record, and it’s not one to sleep on. It’s a big poppy tune with not the slightest bit of bashfulness to be found.
It’s understandable if you start questioning the current season. This sounds like summer glory to my ears.

November was a good month. The weather was surprisingly nice, and the new tunes sounded as fresh as I could have hoped. Lots of good new talent emerged this month, and I’m proud to share it with you.

If you head over to The Black Keys website you can hear three new songs from El Camino, along with “Lonely Boy” & “Run Right Back”, which we have already heard. All you need to do is share some info, and the songs are streaming just for you.
El Camino drops December 6 on Nonesuch Records. I’ve heard the album a few times, and let’s just say you’re going to want to save it a spot on your ear end lists.
Beach Fossils have begun writing/recording for their new album. The band took to their facebook page to post the following news:
It’s not much, but it’s something. We can always use some new Beach Fossils. Look out for a new 7″ soon.
Yesterday I shared the video for Bon Iver’s “Hinnom, TX”. Now that the deluxe edition of Bon Iver is released, Bon Iver has made all of the videos from the album available to watch on their youtube page.

Tomorrow Bon Iver are releasing a deluxe version of their fantastic new album Bon Iver. It comes with a video that is set to accompany each track. Time premiered the video for “Hinnom, TX”, and it’s a beauty. The visuals go along so well with the music. This release isn’t extra, it’s a necessity.

Missed two things from Bombay Bicyle Club this year. They released a fantastic single called “Shuffle” off their new album A Different Kind Of Fix, and covered Lana Del Rey’s heavily covered/remixed “Video Games” for BBC’s Live Lounge (just like Kasabian). Both are necessary listens.

The Antlers did a wonderful session for Daytrotter that you need to hear. It’s available to download for free at Daytrotter. Do so while you can, because soon, you’ll soon need to be a member. It’s a good example of the experimental goodness that they bring with their live efforts.
Lana Del Rey’s debut album will be titled Born 2 Die, just like her next single. This is one of my most anticipated albums in general, so it’s exciting to hear that it’s looking like it will be released on January 23rd (via Interscope).
Look out for the single/music video which should be out shortly. The video will include a live tiger.
Many people were (rightfully) upset that Nickelback were the halftime “entertainment” at the Lions/Packers Thanksgiving day game. People tried to petition them off, but to no avail. Mayer Hawthorne campaigned to take their spot, but as you saw, Nickelback didn’t give it up.
Hawthorne compromised by broadcasting a mini-show in his family’s basement on turkey day. His dad is even playing bass. It’s a great performance, definitely check it out below via Rolling Stone.
