Brazilian website Rock ‘n’ Beats asked some of the best independent artists in the scene to help them with their Strokes Tribute album for Is This It.
It’s not the first tribute album as you well know, but it’s fairly different. Here’s how the site described the collection:
The goal was to make a different collection, to escape the traditional Strokes’ guitars and Julian Casablancas’ heavy voice. We selected the artists in order to actually make the tracks new, with a different personality to add to each song.
This is the first time you’ve heard these songs like this. Each song has it’s own feel, reminding me off the light hearted fun of Little Joy. These versions have space to breath, becoming breathtaking all over again.
