Blouse’s self titled debut album is out now, via Captured Tracks. “Into Black” is on the album, and it is still one of my favorites songs of the year.

A little while back Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij released his solo track “Wood”. Today he followed that up with an excellent piece titled “Don’t Let It Get To You”. It’s a colorful song with tons of percussion and worldy elements, taking my mind far away from the cold weather and snow.

So it’s official, Zooey and Ben are no more. This news sucks for Ben, but it’s probably made a healthy amount of men around the world that much healthier. What this does mean is that Death Cab For Cutie’s next album is sure to be one of the more depressing albums, which is saying a lot. Reports are that this split was “mutual and amicable” and that “there was no third party involved.”
It sucks that it didn’t work out, but for some reason, the news doesn’t seem all that surprising. At least they lasted longer than good old Kimmy K.
Doubt that Ben is going to be listening to She & Him’s Christmas album anytime soon.

Rocket Juice And The Moon is the new side-project of Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad, & The Queen), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Atoms For Peace), and Tony Allen, who plays drums in Albarn’s The Good, The Bad, & The Queen.
Pitchfork points out that the band debuted songs in Europe this weekend, and the band uploaded recordings of this performance to their youtube page. There’s 8 recordings in all for you to check out so head over there now and see what the band is all about.
Howth’s song “Needles And Pins” is surely one of the better small releases from 2011. It finally has a proper music video, and it’s great. It was directed by Michael Pisano, a friend of the bands.
