“Deep In The Woods” is the b-side to Tennis’ “Origins” 7″ release, which came out yesterday via Forest Family Records. They released a somewhat disturbing music video for the song, which is available to watch below thanks to Rolling Stone. The song shows even more promise for their new album Young & Old (out Feb 14 via Fat Possum).

“Seven Stars” is a new song from Air that they are doing for a soundtrack that they did for the colored version of Georges Méliès 1902 silent film Le Voyage Dans La Lune. The silent film actually plays a big role in Hugo, one of the best films of the year.
They brought on Beach House’s Victoria Legrand for guest vocals, and it’s a good result. The song displays a heavenly mood that contrasts the songs heavy percussion quite well. Take a listen below.
The album will drop February 6 via Astralwerks. It’s available to pre-order here.
Miike Snow is back with a new track called “Devil’s Work” and they didn’t leave any of their pop excitment behind. It takes a different route, adding a dramatic piano and horns, but the Swedish pop-hooks are plenty. It’s good to have them back.
A new album is in the works, looking at a release sometime in 2012. For now, stream “Devil’s Work” below, a catch a film accompaniment that the band also released today, after the jump.
Andrew Bird has a new album on the way. It’s called Break It Yourself and it will be released on March 6th via Mom + Pop Records. It was recorded in his Western Illinois barn, and self-produced.
Bird also has released spring 2012 tour dates which you can find at his website. He’ll be playing NYC’s The Beacon Theatre on May 4/5.
Over the weekend Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross shared a bit from their soundtrack for the highly anticipated new movie, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. They gave fans a chance to preview some of the tracks, giving us a free 6 track download of songs from the soundtrack. This is some moody music that is sure to fit beautifully with David Fincher’s vision. If you liked the music that you heard in The Social Network, you will eat this up.
You can download the sampler below.
The soundtrack itself is available to pre-order here. Fans who pre-ordered it on iTunes got their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” feat. Karen O a little early. I got a stream that you can listen to after the jump.

Guards new single “Do It Again” is straight up rock goodness. It hits hard with crunchy guitars that just scream summer fun. Sure, it’s December but why get rid of such a feel good aesthetic? It features a simple chorus of “Do It Again” that just sounds so…damn…good.
It’s being released through White Iris Records as a blue vinyl. Download it below.

“Breaking The Yearlings” is a new Shearwater song from their upcoming LP, Animal Joy. This is epic indie rock with a fine flair for the dramatic that hits hard. These guys have one of the most distinct, unique sounds out there. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.

Animal Joy comes out February 14 via Sub Pop.
As my favorite movie blog /film points out, Jonny Greenwood, guitarist of Radiohead, is set to score the next Paul Thomas Anderson movie, The Master. It stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Laura Dern. Not half bad.
Jonny scored Paul Thomas Anderson’s last film, There Will Be Blood. His score helped contribute a great deal to the film, which was a powerhouse to begin with.
The info came from Oliver Weindling who is the founder of the record label Babel. He tweeted that one of his bands, Zed-U, helped recorded part of soundtrack for Jonny Greenwood for the new Anderson film.
This is fantastic movies for movie/music fans a-like.
