Chris Baio, the bassist you have grown to love from Vampire Weekend, is gearing up to release a solo EP. Don’t worry, Baio has been DJ’ing around NYC for a while, this is more of a fun project then anything changing within the band. Vampire Weekend are a-ok as far as we know, folks.
Chris is releasing an EP called Sunburn under the simple moniker of Baio. It’s scheduled for a May 21 release through Greco-Roman,
the label of Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard. The EP is three songs of great electronic songs such as “Tanto”.
“Tanto” is a 6-minute long jam featuring tropical ideas and the vocals of Matias Aguayo. It’s a charming song that definitely has summer glaring off it’s rearview mirror. Take a listen over at soundcloud.
