Passion Pit have had to cancel a bunch of tour dates in order to improve the mental health of frontman Michael Angelakos. He posted a message on the band’s website saying:

On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to greatly apologize for the show cancellations. In order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health. For now, I’d like to thank all of our fans for their understanding. I hope to see all of you very soon in a much different light.

I saw the band a few weeks ago at Governors Ball. While shooting from the photo pit, I got as close as one could get to Michael. I have seen the band a few times now, and something about the show – Michael in particular, seemed off to me. He didn’t seem as enthusiastic or joyful. Even looking him dead in the eyes during the set, he seemed unnerved. That was just the feeling I got, and now it seems like I may have been right.

Hope Michael gets better. You can see the list of cancelled shows here.
