Dirty Projectors delivered on the promise of their most excellent new album, Swing Lo Magellan, swinging and hitting it way out of Union Park. The set was a beautiful display of the band’s signature vocals, putting their unique time signatures to the test, sounding anything but odd. The set was heavy on the new album. and rightfully so, it’s truly one of 2012’s finest. The older songs were great to hear as well, and were played in succession.

Watching Dave Longstreth and Amber Coffman share vocal duties was one of the pure highlights of the weekend for me. They’re just that talented. The band is as tight as one could hope, and don’t miss a single beat.

Add seeing Dirty Projectors to your summer agenda. You won’t regret it.
