A lot was hanging in the air for M83’s performance. I had really high expectations after hearing so much about their live show for so many years. Lollapalooza finally gave me a chance to see if their show was everything that others said it was. While it wasn’t as “life changing” as so many have claimed it to be (albeit, it was a festival shortened set), it was still a great time.
The band were nothing short of anthematic, creating a dramatic and high voltage atmosphere that was electric. Anthony Gonzalez and his band came out of the gates with a grand version of “Intro” that set the tone for a set that took off into the coolness of the night. I’ll be seeing a proper show this October at the Hammerstein Ballroom and am greatly looking forward to it.
