Day 1 of Lollapalooza may have been won out by Australians Tame Impala, who impressed everyone fortunate enough to check them out. Their highly experimental psych-rock was dreamy and brilliant enough to make me forget about the blistering heat, even if only for a minute. The songs were played so well, everyone in the crowd was literally expressing a wow or two after each song.
Tame Impala aren’t newcomers anymore, but I still think there’s plenty of room and time for these guys to get even bigger. With a new album titled Lonerism on the way, it’s only a matter of when.
