My musical pallet will always have room for a song with a good melody that sounds dreamy and otherworldly. This is most definitely Ex Cops’ “James”, a masterfully crafted piece of indie pop that is not a puzzle to figure out.

It has a dazed and lost in the moment type of cinematic quality that is done so well that it almost seems effortless. Calling it catchy is stating the obvious.

It comes from the Brooklyn bands’ debut album True Hallucinations. It’s due out January 22 via Other Music Recording Co.
