California X – Pond Rot

By Will Oliver, November 23rd 2012 Listen New Stream

California X aren’t even from California. They’re from Amherst, Massachusetts, but it’s all the same when you here their first single “Pond Rot”. It unleashes a delicious amount of guitar fuzz that sound made for the 90s, but supremely awesome in 2012. The garage anthem sees pop melodies rise to the surface, making it one of the best heavy songs that can grace one’s ears.

“Pond Rot” comes from their upcoming self-titled debut album, due out January 15 on Don Giovanni.

Earlier this March they released their debut 7″ single, “Sucker/Mummy”. Stream both of those below as well.
