Many people like to mock artists for letting their songs in commercials, deeming them sell outs or whatever. However, that tactic of getting your music out there works, as a commercial – for Zales no less – is how I discovered “If It Wasn’t For You” by Various Cruelties.
It’s taken from their self-titled debut, which came out in the UK this past April. It will come out here on February 26, 2013. It has an old-school sound that would be ideal for that high school slow dance. Definitely a nice song, one that I can use to keep the mind warm during this winter rush.
