Peace (the British version) made their NYC debut at Pianos last night (it was their 2nd show in the US). I have been following the band since this summer and it’s been great to see their ascent over in the UK. They’ve made quite a rise in 2012, and I’m sure 2013 will be a big year from them. They’re still developing on the US market, but they filled out the room quite easily, so that’s an encouraging sign for sure.

The band has only a handful of material, but they made every performance count. Big bristling guitar riffs hit the high-energy platform and with great tropical inspired rhythms that had a lot of kick edge; all of which left me engaged and impressed. It’s easily to get lost in the waves of NME buzz bands or whatever the hell people want to call up-and-coming British bands. But Peace are for real. Call them what you want, but I’m calling them a band to watch, and one that you shouldn’t sleep on live.
