Surfer Blood’s new album, and debut on Warner Brothers, will be titled Pythons. The album press cycle has officially started with the band releasing album cut “Weird Shapes.”
Right away you’ll notice the fine tuned production that hits your speakers with “Weird Shapes.” This crisp, clean, sound must have something to due with production from Gil Norton, the man who produced The Pixies’ Doolittle. It leans harder on a power-pop sound that the band has always played near.
I’m enjoying it a lot, even while trying to forget this.
