Little Boots

It’s been a good time since Little Boots debut album, Hands. A good 4-years, to be exact. Victoria Hesketh, the lady behind Little Boots, has announced that she will release a new album May 6 titled Nocturnes. It will come out on her very own imprint, On Repeat.

Yesterday she released the first single from the album, the glossy synth-friendly “Motorway.”

In an interview with Spin, she rightfully points out a main problem with today’s “dance music”:

“Much of the ‘dance music’ we’ve been bombarded with of late leaves me cold. Recently it feels like Proper Songs have somehow gone out of fashion. So a big part of what I wanted to do on this record is show that you can produce dance-pop that’s both interesting and artistic, but maintains the magic of classic pop songwriting.”

She achieves this in a great way on “Motorway.” I’m sick and tired of EDM and pop songs are lacking, but she combines both of them to create a very enjoyable track with “Motorway.”
