Sarah Neufeld is the violinist in Arcade Fire, and a huge part of their expansive sound. She is releasing a solo album titled Hero Brother August 20 via Constellation.
She recorded the album in Berlin, performing it in places such as: an orchestral hall, an abandoned geodesic dome and an underground parking garage.
Check out the spectacular title track below, which is a free download. It’s a stunning whirlwind of wild violin playing and heavy hitting drums that all add to one overwhelmingly powerful sound. It’s something I could see being very effective in a serious movie.
