2013 continues to be the year that just keeps on giving. Cut Copy have surprised me with their announcement that they will release a new album this year. It’s called Free Your Mind, and will come out on November 5 via Loma Vista/Modular.

Along with the news came the release of the title track as a stream. There’s a very late 80’s Manchester-style rock vibe going on here, with some trippy psychadelic elements that we’ve seen the band playing with as of late. It’s still very much Cut Copy, with their signature “oohs” and feel good dance celebration tactics.

I thought we would get a new Cut Copy album next year. The fact that it’s coming out this year during the holiday season is a glorious thing, certainly worth celebrating. All the new songs I heard at Governors Ball sounded tremendous.

Earlier during the summer they shared another new song with us called “Let Me Show You How.” That is now titled “Let Me Show You Love” and is on the new album. The LP was recorded in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia, and was produced by lead singer, Dan Whitford.

Check out “Free Your Mind” below, along with the album’s tracklisting.
