Chromatics and Glass Candy played a duel bill last Friday that saw both the projects of Johnny Jewel come together for a great night of music. At first I was confused about Chromatics starting the show with Glass Candy playing after, as Chromatics had the lead billing. But with the night time grooves of Chromatics and the big pick me up anthems of Glass Candy, it soon made sense to me.
Both bands gave top tier performances, especially Chromatics, who just know how to take their sound to new places live. Glass Candy’s Ida No was a more than enthusiastic front-woman that took the show and ran with it with a loveable batch of energy. It was fun to watch her dancing on stage and even crowd surfer across a sea of fans.
