Sufjan+Stevens

It’s been some time since we’ve heard new (non Christmas) music from Sufjan Stevens. Almost three years, to be exact. So we’ll take anything we can get this point.

With that said, I was happy to see that Sufjan released an old demo of his called “Take Me” earlier in the week. Now with the madness that is CMJ out of the way, I finally can post. He shared the song on his tumblr saying:

Sloppy lo-fi demo I found on an old hard drive. It don’t go nowhere so don’t expect nothing. Love don’t go nowhere so don’t expect nothing. Quadruple negative, yo. Stay Positive.

It’s a mix of his older work with the electronic experimentation that he explored on 2010’s Age Of Adz. There’s some Thom Yorke/recent Radiohead influence in here, for sure. It’s one hell of a track, shame that it’s only a demo.
