This weekend I was one of the lucky flew who was able to catch Arcade Fire’s very intimate CMJ show in a Brooklyn art gallery/warehouse last Friday. They played many new songs off of new album Reflektor (which is out next week via Merge).
Today they’ve let go of a lyric video stream of a new song called “Afterlife”, which was for sure a highlight during the show. It’s starts as a shuffling little dance number that slowly blossoms into a widescreen epic that is intimate in its heart but made for large scale consumption. They still have that big natured Arcade Fire sound along with the disco/dance influences that they’ve incorporated so smoothly.
