On Saturday night Perfect Pussy played one of their biggest shows yet, a sold out show at Mercury Lounge. The show was clearly an important one to the Syracuse band, as their parents were there in attendance, with many of them watching the entire show on the side as the band viciously tore through their set.

They played at lightning speed, almost just as fast as the crowd was moshing and throwing their bodies into one another. At about 20-minutes it was a blink and you’ll miss it type of show. But the energy that the punk-rockers deliver is unmistakable. It grabs complete control over the audience.

The set ended with bassist Greg Ambler stage diving (more like a spear than a dive) into the crowd, the only proper conclusion to as crazy a performance as they put on. If you were there and came out without any bruises, you missed out.

Green Dreams and Tumul opened things up. Green Dreams are a punk band from Rochester and were enjoyable enough. Tumul meanwhile were more of an experiment than a band. They sounded like a dying alien breathing his last breath in space continuously for 20 minutes. People in the crowd looked miserable and confused while watching, and one guy even chucked his beer at them. It was brutal, one of my least favorite concert experiences possibly ever.

Check out some more photos from Perfect Pussy’s set below.
