London trio Flowers recently released their debut album Do What You Want To, It’s What You Should Do (via Kanine Records), and brought their tour to NYC for a bunch of CMJ dates. This included the wonderful day party at Cake Shop that Terrorbird Media put on.
The London trio put on a delicate performance of songs that were often hushed and lovely. A heavy emphasis is put on the vocals of singer Rachel Kenedy who gives the group a vulnerability that just hits home in all the right ways. They also weave into some twee-pop areas such as the fantastic single “Joanna” which was a sure highlight of their brief but enjoyable set.
