These days Alec Ounsworth is the only original remaining member of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. It’s an odd thing to see, as the debut album that they original lineup release was for sure one of the reasons I’m doing what I do now on this blog. Either way, I’m just happy that Ounsworth has kept the band going, releasing a new album called Only Run earlier this year.

The set was a good mix of tracks old and new, with old favorites from their beloved debut album stealing most of the spotlight. “Is This Love?” going right into “The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth” got the crowd wild, giving me glorious flashes to the night where I just happened to discover the band. The material of Only Run as well as Some Loud Thunder and Hysterical sounded equally polished, and fit in nicely.

Ounsworth noted that it was the band’s last show for the tour and for a while. I don’t know what the future has in store for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, but as long as they keep dishing out rock solid live shows, you won’t see me complaining.
