You may best know Alden Penner as one half of The Unicorns, or his other band, Clues. He also is a solo musician, and released an album called Exegesis last year (bandcamp). He also released an EP called June 04bandcamp.
He’s currently working on his new album that will come out this June, and today he released a new track called “Meditate” that features guest vocals from actor Michael Cera, as well as a 12-year-old named Felix Tymoshenko. Cera is a member of Mister Heavenly, the band of Nick Thorburn, the other half of The Unicorns.
“Meditate” is a 9-minute track that does indeed give the listener a meditative experience, with a drone-led atmosphere pegging the way for some psychedelic vocal offering from Penner, Cera, and young Tymoshenko.
