Sufjan Stevens

Tomorrow night Sufjan Stevens makes his live return to New York City for a sold out show at The Beacon Theatre. The show is likely to be one of the best of the entire year, as Sufjan will be playing tracks from his beautiful new album Carrie & Lowell, a likely contender on nearly every best of list this year.

I haven’t seen Sufjan perform live since his performance at Prospect Park in 2011, so it’s been a while. With this album being a return to his stripped-down folk roots, I’m expecting it to be a much different show than the one he presented with the electronic-influenced Age Of Adz.

The show is very much sold out, but there’s always secondary markets. He also plays The Kings Theatre for two nights in a row on May 1 & 2, but something tells me this will be the show to be at.
