HEALTH - New Coke

L.A.’s HEALTH haven’t released an album since 2009’s Get Color, making a new album from them long overdue. This makes the announcement of a brand new album exciting. It’s entitled Death Magic, and it will be released on August 7 via Loma Vista Recordings.

With the announcement comes a rather interesting music video for the album’s first single “New Coke.” The song is a mesmerizing display of dark synth’s that start off in Crystal Castles (now former member Alice Glass actually cameos in the video) territory, before coming harder with a bit of a heavy crunch. There’s a lot of slow-motion vomit that is apparently real, album details are shared, and the video ends with a phone number attached to a message that states “if you need to talk.”

According to fans, including a friend, if you call the number the bands very own John Famiglietti (who directed the video) will answer and talk to you. Apparently we can expect a small one-off show in NYC soon and some more proper tour dates this fall that should be announced soon. If you’re brave enough, you can try for yourself. The number is 213-259-3841.
