On December 9, The Arcs returned to New York for a performance at Terminal 5, their largest show in New York City to date. Considering they released their debut album Yours, Dreamily, just a few months prior, it was an impressive feat, no matter if your frontman is from The Black Keys or not.
As expected this was a much different show than the last one I caught at the tiny Housing Works bookshop, which just happened to be their first ever live performance. Like the last show, Mariachi Flor de Toloache, opened the show, and also play with The Arcs on stage (and helped record on the album).
Dan Auerbach knows a thing or two about playing big shows, so it was obvious that the jump to Terminal 5 was as natural as it gets. The band sounded great, delivering plenty of favorite cuts from the album, as well as a healthy cut of covers, as well as a few new and unreleased songs, which may hint at another album sooner than we know it. As long as we get some more live shows, I’m totally down for that.
