On August 7, legendary The Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney returned to New Jersey for the first time in 14 years. MetLife Stadium is a huge show for almost anybody, but The Macca isn’t quite just anyone. With an astonishing career throughout his 74 years of life, McCartney had tons of memorable and beloved material to dive into for this leg on his special One One on One tour spanning his entire career. From The Beatles, to his pre-Beatles days with the Quarrymen, later days with The Wings, and then of course present days material, there was plenty for everyone throughout his expansive 38-song set.
There were plenty of interesting and insightful stories shared from McCartney (even though they’re probably routinely told at every stop), and a diverse crowd of all ages that you simply never really see anymore. It was my first time getting to see a proper show from McCartney (his short surprise set at Times Square in 2013 was cool but doesn’t quite count) and it was every bit an enjoyable spectacle that one would come to expect from a living legend.
