I first saw the promising Richmond, Virginia singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus in September when she opened for Car Seat Headrest at Bowery Ballroom. She held her own that night and instantly had me hooked to her debut album No Burden, which was originally released this year via EggHunt Records, and then re-released via Matador Records after signing with the label.

She played a good majority of tracks taken off the album, as well as a new song called “Night Shift,” which was played for the second time ever live. She told us she’d probably be back soon, and hopefully the next time it’s with even more material, because she’s clearly one of the brightest rising songwriters in the game at the moment.
