Foals may have released their latest album What Went Down back in summer 2015 (via Warner Bros) but they’ve been hard at work touring in support of it, coming back here over the summer for festivals including Panorama, as well as a small show at the iHeartRadio Theater. They returned again in November which included local shows at United Palace Theater in NYC as well as College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut.
I was willing to make a trek to College Street Music Hall as I’d never been there before, and it’s seemed like a much smaller and appropriate to see a monstrous live band like Foals, than a seated venue like United Palace – no matter how beautiful it may be. The decision turned out to be a good one. College Street Music Hall is a comfortable venue where there really is no bad vantage point.
Foals delivered a pretty similar set to what they have been on this run, but they were in top form after touring for so long, and delivered a typically energetic performance that has me eager for some new songs that are hopefully not too far off in the horizon.
