The always reliable English songwriter Laura Marling is back with her new album Semper Femina, which she recently released via her own label, More Alarming Records. The album is amazingly the sixth album that she’s released in just nine years, a truly impressive ratio.

On March 1 Marling was in New York making the press rounds, concluding a long day of interviews with a special intimate performance at Rockwood Music Hall that was being taped for a live WFUV session.

She performed the album in it’s entirety, nearly in order, except for swapping the order of “Nouel” and “Next Time.” The songs sounded absolutely lovely, warmly arranged by her band which included a pair of backing singers at her side along with her more familiar bandmates.

It was a great way to take in the album and take in a lovely performance from one of the best songwriting talents that we are fortunate to have around at the moment.
